Known as TestFest , this year was significant, not for what won, but also for what lost. It was the most gruelling TestFest in my years and interesting because no one maker dominated like General Motors last year with four wins. The process is simple in concept, but tremendously difficult to pull off. This year some accredited journalists from literally across the country assembled at Niagara on the Lake to test different vehicles in different categories. Only cars on site can be driven and your vote only counts if you drove all the cars in the category.
To avoid cheating, all cars are booked in and out by bar coding. Manufacturers submitted vehicles of which were accepted. To be eligible, a vehicle must be entirely brand new , or have major changes to at least two of exterior bodywork, interior or powertrain.
